Doug Balliett

Double bass

Bassist, composer, and poet Doug Balliett has been praised by The New York Times for music that is "vivid, emotive, with contemporary twists." A member of Ruckus, ACRONYM, Oracle Hysterical, and the American Modern Opera Company (AMOC), he enjoys an unusually diverse career spanning historical performance, new music, composition, and education. He teaches double bass, violone, Historical Performance, and a popular course on The Beatles at The Juilliard School.
